Making AI analytics clear and actionable

What I did: Led content design for Microsoft Copilot Dashboard, helping enterprise customers understand AI adoption, usage, and return on investment.
Role: Lead content designer
Impact: Supported 8 releases in under 5 months across an evolving AI analytics experience.
The challenge
Copilot Dashboard helps customers understand how employees are adopting AI and the value they're getting from their Microsoft investment. That makes every metric, label, and explanation critical: customers need to understand complex data quickly and act on it.
Why it matters

Internal analysis showed that customers using Copilot Dashboard saw stronger growth in licenses purchased, licenses assigned, and monthly active users than those who didn't.
Making AI consumption understandable

As the industry shifts from subscription licenses to usage-based AI credits, managing consumption has become critical. Without visibility and controls, users can consume disproportionate resources or organizations can burn through budgets faster than expected.
I worked with product and design to turn complex consumption data into clear metrics, labels, explanations, and guidance, helping customers understand what they were consuming, where spend was going, and when action was needed.
Designing for 5X the audience

Removing a licensing requirement expanded access to manager-scoped Copilot insights from roughly 850K to 4.5M eligible managers. That meant clearly explaining who was newly eligible, what had changed, and what admins needed to do next.
BEFORE
You have additional eligible managers with scoped access to Copilot Insights. Review and update access as needed.
CONTENT CONSIDERATIONS
Clarify with PM if the managers have scoped access, or are getting scoped access
Add bold headline and lead with the number (120) to show impact of this change
Since eligibility could not be fully verified, use may be eligible
Add now to create may now be eligible, signaling a new development to the user
Distinguish between to Copilot Insights (product) and for Copilot insights (data)
Favor more managers over additional managers (more simple; line doesn't wrap)
For body text, lead with the why (something changed); criteria has been updated
AFTER
120 more managers may now be eligible for Copilot insights Eligibility criteria for scoped access has been updated. Review and update access as needed.
Closing a critical competitive gap

Data freshness became a P0 priority, escalating to Microsoft 365 senior leadership as Copilot Analytics competed with OpenAI and Gemini for enterprise AI customers.
